Everything Changes, Nothing is Fixed

It has been two years since I have posted to this blog. I looked at the date of my previous post and was startled by how much time has passed.

Much has happened in my world in that time. I gave birth to our second daughter, I lost my mother to cancer, life has continued to move and change. I have another blog, one that chronicles some of this and gathers some of the randomness of my thoughts. You can check it out here, if you're interested.

I am furthering my Feng Shui studies, working on my second certification with a different institute. My initial training opened up a whole new world for me, and created some rich results for me and my clients. This next step is both deepening and simplifying my practice, and I'm excited about it.

I'd like to share a little of that here with you. This morning, as I read through my course materials, this struck me as particularly important.

Traditional, classical Feng Shui, takes it's calculations from the Yi-Jing, or I-Ching. From my course:

"The primary concept of the Yi-Jing is that everything undergoes changes and cycles and nothing is fixed."

I have been working with integrating that reality lately, with all of the big changes in my life. So I'm sure it's no accident that this particular statement jumped out at me as I was reading.

I love that classical Feng Shui considers the fluidity of life and life force energy, and takes this into account. I love that there are gentle, simple ways to work with and harness this energy. I'm working to integrate this both into my life and my practice.

I'll be posting more about this and related topic as I continue my studies. You're welcome to join me as it all unfolds.
